The objective of this article is to show a literature review of Applied Simulation to the Project Management as for the last twenty years. This article reviews the main Simulation methodologies, as well as some of their properties, that have stimulated the application of Simulation in project management. Besides that, a review of historical marks is presented, since the Monte Carlo Simulation proposal as a solution to PERT/CPM methodology limitations. In addition, this work intends to outline the theme through stratifications in order to offer a holistic overview of the theme. As a result, there will be the possibility of realize some important connections and tendencies in relation to the stratifications, as the application of the Discrete Event Simulation and Monte Carlo Simulation methodologies for the schedule and cost risk management. Such applications are mainly related with high level risk projects, such as civil projects, software development, design Engineering and Oil & gas projects.
