The study addresses the creation of a maintenance plan aimed at a 3D printer using FDM technology. It is an exploratory and qualitative study, supported by systematic observation. The development of this maintenance plan took place through visits to a company in the Manaus Free Trade Zone whose production processes use 3D printing. The plan is of the procedural type, with control records aimed at making maintenance activities for this type of equipment more assertive. The study concludes that the absence of maintenance plans results in a high number of corrective maintenance, which are more focused on resolving urgencies than necessarily preventing failures from happening. In view of the relevance of work involved in maintenance, in addition to the huge volume of money that the additive manufacturing market moves, it is urgent that solutions be created with a view to increasing the useful life of equipment, a preponderant factor for increasing the productivity, with cost reduction and more sustainable production processes.
