Rainwater harvesting. Innovation patente. Bibliometry of patents.Abstract
The global water crisis continues to rise due to several factors. Thus, new solutions have appeared to minimize damages and increase use efficiency such as rainwater harvesting systems. To understand the context and its evolution, this work aims at mapping the patents of the technologies involving the use of rainwater. This work adopts a quantitative analysis by using bibliometric techniques of the documents deposited and published until August of2018 inthe database Derwent Innovations Index. Through content analysis, categories such as countries, depositors, uses and advantages were defined. Two hundred nineteen documents were identified: 106 individuals, 102 organizations, and 11 shared by individuals and organizations. The main uses were domestic, for buildings, and general (membranes, gutters, filters and filter tanks). The main advantages are simplified installation and maintenance and a greater adaptability of existing systems.
