This article analyses university-industry interaction in Espírito Santo state. Evidence is brought from the role played by research groups in engineering between 2000 and 2010, based on public tabular data in CNPq research groups directory. The analyses shows that the university-industry interaction is not expressive despite reorganization and expansion of the local S,T&I system . It also stresses that the contribution from schools of engineering is more towards labor force formation and generation of knowledge than that towards economic interactions with industries. Given that, the article stresses the need for universities to become more innovative in their approach / interactions with the private sector.Downloads
