Resumo

O Lean Manufacturing é uma filosofia que possui diversas técnicas, métodos e ferramentas com o objetivo de eliminar os desperdícios e tornar a empresa mais competitiva. Entre as técnicas do Lean está a Troca Rápida de Ferramentas (TRF) que procura diminuir o tempo de setup e o tempo de máquina parada durante o processo. Com base nessa premissa, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo identificar e analisar os resultados obtidos com a implantação da TRF em uma tradicional indústria metalúrgica do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Para alcançar os objetivos deste trabalho, foi acompanhado o processo de setup da peça Chassis do Motor antes e depois da implantação das técnicas da TRF. Entre os principais resultados obtidos se destaca a redução do tempo total de setup em 58,4%, a redução de 96,3% do tempo de máquina parada e melhor sequenciamento das etapas (passos) envolvendo as atividades da TRF pelo operador que realiza a tarefa.
